Reader, We're born to die. Life is short. Fleeting. And for most - painfully disappointing. We're space monkeys on a rock. Hurtling around the sun at 67,000 mph. Men used to go to war. Women used to hold down the country. The chance of you existing is pretty much zero. So why the fuck do I come across business owners who are scared of the phone. It has no teeth. It has no claws. It merely has a voice in it. And that voice is beyond valuable. I'll be straight with you - I'm no cold calling savant. Before I hit the phone, I play music to hype me up, and I tell myself two things. One, it's statistically likely I could win a fight against the voice on the phone - physical or verbal. Two, I have full permission to be a dick, if they are a dick. If they are rude, I am worse. (Weirdly, the second one works at booking more sales calls. But that's not why I do it. I do it because I refuse to allow anyone to talk down to me. If I allow the voice in the phone to do it, I will begin to allow it elsewhere. Not happening). Last week I had twelve conversations with business owners from ~eighty dials. As a result ten sales calls hit the calendar. You, me, whoever can make a hundred dials in a day. You, me, whoever can book ten sales calls a day. I'm embarrassed telling you I only hit 'dial' ~eighty times. Whether you make multi millions. Whether you've just started out. Maybe you're somewhere in between. If you're wondering how to grow, and you haven't found the answer... ...Your market has it. The market always has the answer. As I often tell those who have the privilege of talking to me - "Nothing bad ever comes from talking to your market more". I've made a hell of a career getting paid to provide answers to business owners. Invaluable input when it comes the fundamentals, & overall strategy. But when you ask me about... Your sales letter Your Facebook ad Your latest social media post Just know you are only asking my opinion. I do not have the definitive answer. Your market has the definitive answer. And the fastest way to get those answers is picking up the damn phone, and talking to your market. They will happily tell you what they want, what they are looking for, and what problems they are willing to pay you to solve.
