Unsubscribes = profit (here's why)

With every email I send I lose email subscribers.

It's natural decay. It's the rubbish taking itself out.

Unsubscribes from your emails are natural and healthy.

They are nothing to take personally, and they are certainly not a reason to stop sending emails.

Email marketing remains one of the most lucrative channels in which to engage your prospects, and clients. But despite this, on more than one occasion I've heard of business owners who have stopped sending emails. And when I've pressed them for the reason why, they tell me it's because they were losing subscribers.

Despite them making sales directly attributable from the emails they send.

Absolute insanity. Your business exists to maximise profit. Not to maximise email subscribers.

So if you send emails, never stop.

But if you don't send emails, or you haven't set a repeatable strategy, here's two things you should do immediately to get richer with email:

1) Gather your clients and your prospects emails, and begin emailing them. Make the initial email a simple message telling them you'll be sending regular emails, and to unsubscribe if they do not want them. Make the following emails about yourself, your life, and your business. Include a call to action to buy your widgets.

2) If you have a lead magnet—after an individual requests it—have a fourteen day email sequence which follows up with them. Include direct requests to work together, case studies, and content that displays competency. Once the fourteen days pass, add them to the above list.

These numbers line up from what I've seen myself, and for my clientele over the many moons of my career.

So if you've declared 2026 to be your best year yet—but you haven't acknowledged the massive email shaped elephant in your advertising closet—It's time to take off the blinkers and get to work.
